Our first stop was the Quinault Rain Forest and Lake area. Splurged and stayed in the Lake Quinault Lodge in the park. We walked the Rain Forest Nature Trail Loop (1/2 mile) and learned all about temperate rain forest.
These are trees growing out of a fallen tree called a "nurse tree". They look like they have octopus legs.
I loved the banana slugs! They were so cute!
This moss hung from everything, sort of like spanish moss at the beach.
This is skunk cabbage and the leaves get really huge!
Huge spruce tree!
