Day 2-A: Wednesday 7/10/2013 - Drive up the Pacific Coast

Wednesday morning we got up early and Todd went to get us breakfast at a little general store and restaurant right up from the Lodge.  Then we were off up the coast.

We stopped and looked at South Beach. You could camp right off the beach in your tent.

North of South Beach is Kalaloch Beach, which is a pebble beach. There was a lodge and cabins and camping again right on the beach.  This is where we saw the best tide pools.

We stopped and walked inland to see the worlds largest Western Red Cedar tree. These pics are all of the same tree from different angles.

The next beach where we stopped was Ruby Beach and it was awesome!  This beach was covered in rocks and had great sea stacks.  There was a nice hike down to the beach itself through more rain forest.

We saw a bald eagle sitting in the top of a tree. Sorry, not a great pic but the best I could do without a telephoto lens.
